Course Overview:

The literature course introduces students to literary text analysis. The course, which focuses on the study of literary works, is divided into three areas of research and seven fundamental themes. The course’s three areas of study add up to a thorough examination of literature from a wide range of cultures, literary forms, and historical periods.

The preeminent aims of the IBDP English Literature course are to:

 

  • acquire the capacity to conduct careful, extensive study of literary works, while gaining a grasp of the processes involved in literary criticism
  • learn to reflect on the role of cultural assumptions in interpretation
  • help students to understand the significance of the context in which texts are produced and received
  • teach students to value texts’ formal, stylistic, and aesthetic characteristics

Requirements:

 

To be able to participate in our online IB English Literature courses, students will need:

  • a device to connect to our lessons (computer, laptop or a tablet)
  • a reliable internet connection
  • web camera.

Course material is included in the registration.

Assessment Information:The examination fee is not included in the course fee paid to International Well Rounded Education. Students are required to arrange and pay for the examinations themselves, however support and guidance will be available with regards to finding exam centers.
